About the Role
Adherence to legislation, Standards Operating Procedures, Codes of Practice and Health and Safety policies, Standards and Procedures.
Timeous reporting of incidents and accidents.
Ensure correct use of PPE and correct use of equipment.
Ensure good house-keeping at all times.
Ensure high quality of work at all times.
Adhere to legal and reasonable instructions from Operations Manager and other duly authorised persons upon request.
Ensure correct use of equipment and machinery as per set standard at all times.
Ensure timeous, safe and effective completion of
Ensure daily risk assessments, safe declarations and pre-checklists are completed.
Fastening up large loads and monitoring, overseeing, and directing the operators of the transport equipment; reporting any arising issues and ensuring that completed work orders are well documented.
Erecting cranes, mobile crane booms and adjusting the height of tower cranes.
Responsible to audit all rigging equipment is accounted for, in good order and safely stored in rigging container
Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS:
þ Grade 12 or equivalent
þ 5 years + Experience in Rigging and mining environment.
þ Rigger Trade( Red Seal) 651501
þ Driver’s License
þ Lifting Tackle Inspections (LMI) Certificate
þ Medically Fit for Duty
þ Able to read and write in English
EXPERIENCE:
þ DMRE Admin Compliance- Ability to be compliant to relevant legislature, policies and procedures
þ General knowledge for understanding of critical health, safety and legal provisions relating to the rigger’s occupation.
þ General knowledge of tools and rigging equipment.
þ Working knowledge of Health & Safety standards
þ Safety awareness- Risk assessment and develop lifting plans
þ Reporting skills
þ Good Communication and writing skills
þ Organizational skills
